So, it looks like Jerry Jeudy, the Browns’ receiver, took a bit of an issue with the 11.5-point spread against the Ravens last week, calling it a “lack of respect”. And, boy, did he make his feelings known. During pre-game introductions, Jeudy flashed the middle finger to the Baltimore crowd, which, let’s be real, wasn’t the most classy move. But hey, the guy was hyped.
Now, I’m not here to judge Jeudy’s antics, but I will say that it probably wasn’t the best idea, considering the Ravens were celebrating 30 years of… well, not being the Browns. Anyway, Jeudy’s little gesture didn’t exactly go unnoticed, and the NFL decided to slap him with a $14,491 fine. Ouch.
The interesting thing is that this fine wasn’t included in the league’s weekly list of fines, since it happened during pre-game and not during the actual game. But, let’s be real, the fine is the least of Jeudy’s worries. The Ravens went on to win 41-17, more than doubling the spread, so it’s safe to say that Jeudy’s message didn’t exactly get through to his team.
All in all, it was a pretty eventful game, and Jeudy’s… let’s call it a “salute” to the Ravens crowd, is definitely going to be remembered. But, next time, maybe he’ll think twice before giving the finger to the opposing team’s fans. Just saying.
