So the Ravens just lost a tough one to the Lions on Monday night, and you know who’s shouldering the blame? None other than their star running back, Derrick Henry. The guy’s been having a rough start to the season, and it’s not just because of the team’s record. Henry’s lost a fumble in all three games so far, including two crucial ones in the fourth quarter of their losses to the Bills and Lions. That’s just not like him – before this season, he’d only lost two fourth-quarter fumbles in his entire career.
After the game, Henry was pretty hard on himself, saying he needs to “be better” and that he’s apologized to his teammates and coaches. I mean, the guy’s a total workhorse and always tries to do the right thing, so it’s not surprising he’s beating himself up over this. He even acknowledged how crazy it is that he’s fumbled in three straight games, and that he’s trying every day to fix the problem. It’s not like he’s just throwing his hands up and saying “oh well” – he’s actually putting in the effort to get his issue sorted out.
It’s worth noting that Henry’s still the NFL’s active leader in rushing yards, and he was on fire last season with the Ravens, rushing for 1,921 yards in 2024. But this season, it’s a different story. He’s lost two big fumbles in the Ravens’ two losses, and it’s starting to become a major concern. Can he turn it around? I think so – the guy’s a beast on the field and has always been able to bounce back from tough situations. But for now, he’s just gotta keep working on securing that ball and hoping his team can get back on track.
