Browns vs Packers: Defensive Player Grades and Performance Review

The Browns’ defense was absolutely on fire during their 13-10 win over the Packers on Sunday. I mean, this unit was the real MVP, and the numbers back it up. According to Pro Football Focus, the Browns’ D was grading out like a bosses. For those who aren’t familiar, PFF grades every player on every play, using a scale of 0-100. The higher the grade, the better the player performed. They break it down like this: 100-90 is elite, 89-85 is Pro Bowler material, 84-70 is starter quality, 69-60 is backup worthy, and 59-0 means you’re probably replacement level. Got it?

So, let’s dive into the grades. At defensive end, Myles Garrett was a beast, grading out at 91.6 (and he played 52 snaps, no less). Cameron Thomas (83.2) and Alex Wright (71.1) also had solid showings, while Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (69.2) and Isaiah McGuire (64.5) were a bit more inconsistent.

At defensive tackle, Adin Huntington (86.3) and Maliek Collins (85.7) were standouts, with Shelby Harris (83.0) not far behind. Mason Graham (62.6) had a bit of a rough day, but hey, we’ve all been there.

The linebackers were a mixed bag. Mohamoud Diabate (74.1) and Carson Schwesinger (72.3) had some nice moments, while Devin Bush (62.5) and Jerome Baker (34.2) struggled a bit. Baker’s grade, in particular, was a surprise – he’s usually a solid contributor.

In the secondary, Denzel Ward (67.8) was his usual self, while Greg Newsome II (62.1) and Myles Harden (55.8) had some ups and downs. Dom Jones (62.4) played just four snaps, but made the most of them.

At safety, Grant Delpit (73.9) and Ronnie Hickman Jr. (73.5) were rocks, with Rayshawn Jenkins (52.2) bringing up the rear.

On the other side of the ball, the Packers’ offense had some bright spots. Darian Kinnard (77.2), John FitzPatrick (76.9), and Josh Jacobs (73.4) all graded out well, while Dontayvion Wicks (63.6) and Matthew Golden (62.8) were decent.

All in all, it was a great day for the Browns’ defense, and a bit of a struggle for the Packers’ O. But hey, that’s just the way the ball bounces sometimes. What did you think of the game? Let me know in the comments!
