Saquon Barkley Speaks Out on Philadelphia Eagles’ Current State Amid His Impressive Beginning to the Season

The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a scorching hot start this season, boasting a 2-0 record thanks in large part to the outstanding play of Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. But despite their promising beginning, Barkley is keeping things in perspective, acknowledging that there’s still plenty of room for improvement.

Barkley recently shared his candid thoughts on the team’s offense, and it’s clear he’s not getting ahead of himself. The 28-year-old running back is pleased with the current state of affairs, but he’s also emphasizing the importance of continuous development throughout the season. In fact, he’d be worried if everything was clicking right now, because let’s be real, that’s just not how football works. As he put it, “I’d actually probably be a little concerned if everything was firing at 100% and everything was going perfectly fine. That’s not football.”

Through two games, Barkley has been a bright spot on the Eagles’ offense, rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns against some tough competition, including the Cowboys and Chiefs. His efficiency on the ground has been a major factor in the team’s early success. But despite Barkley’s impressive individual performances, the Eagles’ passing game has been a different story altogether.

Jalen Hurts has thrown for just 253 yards with no touchdowns, which is a far cry from what we’ve come to expect from this offense. And it’s not just Hurts – receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith have also struggled to get going, with Brown managing just 35 receiving yards and Smith tallying 69. This is a stark contrast to last season, when the Eagles had one of the most explosive offenses in the league.

However, it’s worth noting that we’re only two weeks into the season, and there’s still plenty of time for the Eagles to find their rhythm in the passing game. With 15 games left on the schedule, there’s ample opportunity for growth and improvement. And with Barkley leading the charge on the ground, the Eagles have the potential to become a serious contender as the season progresses.

As they head into Week 3 against the Rams, the Eagles will be looking to get their passing attack back on track. If they can manage to do so, watch out – this team could be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. But for now, Saquon Barkley is keeping things in perspective, and that’s a refreshing attitude to see from one of the team’s star players.
