The New York Giants may have fallen short in their thrilling matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, but one player who certainly didn’t disappoint was wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. The 24-year-old slot receiver hauled in 142 of Russell Wilson’s 450 passing yards, including a 32-yard touchdown catch that sparked one of six lead changes in the fourth quarter.
Wilson, who had a firsthand look at Robinson’s potential during offseason bonding sessions in San Diego and Atlanta, was effusive in his praise for the young receiver. “I just love how he competes. I love how he plays the game, he sees the game well,” Wilson said. “He’s like a quarterback out there playing receiver. He understands everything. He understands his route concepts and where to be and just has a great feel for the game.”
Robinson’s impressive performance was no surprise to Wilson, who has been impressed by the receiver’s work ethic and dedication to film study. “He gets extra work. He spends a lot of time on it daily,” Wilson said. “He loves watching the film, and loves understanding the game. I hold him in high regard.”
The Giants quarterback also drew comparisons between Robinson and some of his favorite former targets, including Tyler Lockett and Calvin Austin. “I think Tyler was a guy who loved the game, saw the game well and had a great feel for space,” Wilson said. “Wan’Dale has a very similar nature in terms of his love for his teammates, his love for the game, the experience that he’s getting every day being out there.”
As the Giants prepare to face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in their 2025 home opener, Robinson will be looking to outdo Chiefs slot receiver Hollywood Brown. The matchup promises to be an intriguing one, with both receivers looking to make a statement in the primetime showdown.
With Robinson’s impressive start to the season, it’s clear that he’s become a key component of the Giants’ offense. And with Wilson at the helm, the sky’s the limit for this dynamic duo. As the Giants look to bounce back from their tough loss to the Cowboys, they’ll be counting on Robinson to continue making big plays and helping to lead the team to victory. Can he keep up his torrid pace and help the Giants take down the Chiefs? Tune in to find out.
